Mayor Ford refused to attend Pride so the gay community plans to bring the celeb...

I'm a huge Pride supporter. As a friend of mine once put it (so well) "When it comes to friends, many of my dearest are also my queerest."

That being said, why is there a certain element of the LGBT community that insists on making parties...

less fun? Pride is an amazing, fun time! Why would they WANT Ford there when it would just cause issues and controversy? Now, they feel the need to go a ruin another party where people are just gathering to have a good time, by adding issues and controversy.

Are they just going to attend and enjoy the party in the manner that the hosts intend? Of course not. They're going to show up and make a scene. We wouldn't allow it if someone showed up at Pride with the sole purpose of being a disturbance, so why the hypocrisy?

Let Ford have his party, and let's try to be adults about this and skip the immature tit-for-tat.
