Romney targets Ohio, Pennsylvania on Election Day

Mitt Romney in Florida (Justin Sullivan/Getty Images)DULLES, Va.?It turns out that what Mitt Romney billed as his final campaign rally tonight in New Hampshire won't be the final political event of his White House bid.

The Romney campaign announced Monday afternoon that the Republican presidential nominee will make two more campaign stops on Election Day, one in Cleveland and the other in Pittsburgh.

Aides did not say whether the events would be political rallies or get-out-the-vote events. But the stops come amid polls showing Romney and President Barack Obama in a dead heat in Ohio and Pennsylvania.

It will be Romney's second visit in three days to Cleveland, and his second visit in as many days to Pennsylvania, a state Republicans insist may be in play on Election Day.

It's not unusual for political candidates to campaign on Election Day. Four years ago, Obama campaigned in Indiana, while Sen. John McCain held a rally in Colorado and dropped in on a phone bank in New Mexico.

Romney is in the midst of a five-event, four-state swing on Monday. He held a rally in Sanford, Fla., before traveling to Virginia, where he held rallies in Lynchburg and Fairfax. On Monday night he'll hold rallies in Columbus, Ohio, and Manchester, N.H.
