The Flatiron BID, Baruch College, and General Assembly are hosting a FREE business assistance event on Tuesday, March 12th at Baruch College (Newman Conference Center, 151 East 25th Street, 7th Floor). FREE registration here.
There will be a free networking breakfast at 8am, and then you can choose from one of four workshops on some great topics from 9am-10am. The following is taken from the official website:
?Workshop I: Developing Your Brand on Facebook and Twitter
with Eric Metelka, Founder and CEO, Digital Media Certification
Gone are the days when a brand was simply a logo and a catch phrase.? Social media is facilitating a two-way dialogue between customers and companies, both large and small. Customers can now interact with and directly shape their favorite brands.? This workshop will explore how users interact with brands online, and how businesses can deliver great content via Twitter and Facebook.
?Workshop II: Intro to User Acquisition Marketing
with Anna Lindow, New York Regional Director, General Assembly?
User Acquisition Marketing is more than just bringing new people to your product.? It?s being able to measure the impact of your efforts to more effectively grow your base.? This workshop serves as a basic introduction to the practice aimed at giving participants an overview of key terminology, concepts and approaches.
Workshop III: Intro to Business Development
with Keith Cutler, Principal, KC Marketing Group
Learning how to most effectively sell both your produce and yourself is a key component in growing a successful business.? This workshop provides a detailed understanding of the sales process, from identifying your audience and making key customer connections, to creating effective presentations and nailing the pitch.? Students will come away with valuable sales and networking techniques.
Workshop IV: Intro to Exporting: Taking a Global Step
Facilitated by Martin K. Behr III, Esq., International Trade Instructor from Baruch College, Division of Continuing and Professional Studies. Moderated by Lene Skou, Deputy Director at Baruch College Weissman Center for International Business with panelists Toni Corsini from the US Small Business Administration, US Export Assistance Center; Ryan Hollowell, M.B.A., M.A. from U.S. Department of Commerce; and Regina Gordin from Export-Import Bank of the United States.
This workshop will present international trade professionals who will share their insights about how exporting can grow your business.? The program will also include an interactive panel of experienced service providers who will discuss the opportunities and benefits of expanding your business to a global market and the many advantages of exporting for small businesses in the United States. The workshop and panel session will conclude by opening the floor for questions and answers.?
