From Jeff Richards:
"Ragin' Bull" Manny Fernandez obtained his SC wrestling license just in time for the Trans-South Wrestling Alliance (TSW) show in Union (4/5). With unexaggerated rumors that the commission would be in attendance Friday night, Fernandez was able to work. However, an unlicensed Jeff Lewis-Neal called in sick with the flu. Lewis has already worked in Cheraw, SC this year for Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling.?Even with the move to Friday instead of the first Saturday of the month, promoter Derik Vanderford drew a healthy 200. The move was necessitated so as to not compete with Vanderford's father Freddie, who was playing on Saturday night in a popular local band.
Ring Wars Carolina will be participating in the third annual "Big Bite at the Swamp" on April 20th in Fayetteville, NC at J.P. Riddle Stadium. The festival is free to the public, and adult beverages will be served. For more information, visit GOSWAMPDOGS.com.
Tom Williams' Revolutionary Wrestling Alliance (RWA) has moved its April 20th show in Marion, NC to May 11th. Gunner, who recently won the RWA Heavyweight Title, has been signed for the event.
Speaking of Gunner, the infrequently-used TNA superstar has agreed to perform a training seminar in Hickory, NC very soon. Cost for workers will be $20. Gunner also will be appearing this Friday (4/12) in Chester, SC for APW.
Derek Charles' ROD will be running an all-cage format for its 4/20 show at the Hickory Armory very similar to TNA's "Lockdown."
Josh Steinborn passed on the opportunity to obtain exclusive rights to the Mooresboro (NC) Fire Hall building for wrestling. Mike Fury's IPW has run at least one more show in the former school gym. However, now word is out that Fury has separated himself from the group as well.
