Alex Alamida wants to be an All-American. - (Cory Mandina, OregonLive.com)
The second week of our 30-school, 1,000-mile?2012 Oregon High School Football Preview?is in the books, but not before we got a chance to talk with Lakeridge senior RB/LB Alex Alamida. Alamida, who was sidelined with injuries for most of the last three seasons, is "an amazing talent" according to Lakeridge head coach Tom Smythe. "When he runs, your jaw just sort of drops," said Smythe. ??
At each stop we're picking at least one student athlete to answer 10 questions, some football related and some not. On Wednesday, we stopped by to watch?Smythe put the Pacers through their daily drills (check out the photo gallery).
Here's what Alamida had to say:
What rival school do you most want to beat?
Lake Oswego by far. I've got a lot of friends on the L.O. side and I tell them every year we're going to beat them, but we are this year.?
What teammate has impressed you the most?
Quarterback Eric Dungey. He improved his arm from last year.?
What would your superpower be??
Flying because I love to fly and to be super quick so I can be like [Thomas Tyner] out there.?
What's your number and why??
I wear 23 because that was my number since sophomore year and I really like Devin Hester. So 23 is where it's at.?
What's your favorite football memory??
Last year in the game against Aloha I laid out Ryan Russo on a punt. It set the tempo for us and we won the game.?
What's your favorite NFL team?
I don't really have a favorite NFL team, I just like players in the NFL. I love Reggie Bush because we're an SC family.
What's your team improved on in the offseason? ?
Coming together as a team is probably the No. 1 thing we've done. Last year, our senior class wasn't really there. We were just counting on Tom and Blake to do everything but senior year is our time so we need to step it up.?

Reggie Bush on the Saints by far. He got the Super Bowl ring with the Saints so ... Saints.?

Game winning touchdown .... oh yeah.

Offense
What have you worked on to improve this offseason?
My speed. I've done track since my sophomore year so I've been doing my speed stuff to get faster.?
What is your goal for this season?
Scoring a lot of touchdowns and rushing for a bunch of yards. I want to become an All-American.

Favorite TV show??
The Hard Times of RJ Berger ... Hell yeah. Jenny Swanson?...?she's hot.?
What's your endzone celebration?
I just stand there, I say a little prayer, say thank you and thank the Lord for everything ... and that's about it.?
